TIMBER GARDEN SHED

This garden shed provides all weather storage for essential garden tools as well as small undercover work area with potting bench. The construction drawing and materials list only
covers the basic structure. Details for fitting out shelving, cupboards and cover strips are not included.
The shed has been designed so that it can be anchored directly to a concrete slab or
alternatively to four 75 x 75mm hardwood stumps embedded 600mm into the ground.
CONSTRUCTION
(If a concrete slab has been poured, start at Step 3)
- 75 x 75 mm stumps are set 600 mm into the ground at the inside corners of the floor frame and bolted through the frame.
- Use 50 mm galvanised nails to fix shot edge flooring to the frame. A 3 mm gap should be left between boards. Pre-drilling will prevent splitting.
- Cut the top and bottom plates to length. Halve the ends which form the corners. Drill holes in bottom plates for fixing bolts from floor frame or masonry anchors from concrete slab.
- Cut studs and posts to length; bolt the floor plates and nail posts, studs and top plates into position. Temporary bracing will be required.
- Fix rafters, fascias and roof battens. Battens are graded to give 25 mm fall on the roof.
Fit the roof in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
Cover panels and side battens are fitted. Add any desired trimmings (cover strips, roof barge boards, etc).
Hang the door, and the shed is ready for painting or staining. Check with Bretts for suitable finishes.
